Hello and welcome to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Mobile Field Force web page. I am Captain Fred Cyprian and the Mobile Field Force Commander. I have been employed with the Sheriff’s Office for 28 years. I began my career with the Sheriff’s Office in 1981, after having previously worked as an Ocala Police Officer. I worked my way through the ranks as a Patrol Deputy, Field Training Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant District Commander, to my current position as a Patrol Captain/Watch Commander. I graduated from the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville, in 1986. I obtained a B. A. degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida in 1985. I am currently enrolled at St. Leo University seeking my Masters Degree in Criminal Justice.
The mobile Field Force Team is composed of approximately 50 highly motivated Deputies, who at a moments notice will respond anywhere in Marion or any other county that may need our assistance.
Duties of the Mobile Field Force Team include, but are not limited to:
Restoring civil order
Homeland Security
Search and rescue
Natural or manmade disasters
Perimeter security of large geographical areas
Any other duties designated by the Sheriff
The Mobile Field Force Team has approximately 50 members who have other primary duties, but are on call 24 hours a day to respond to any of the above type incidents. Members train regularly to be prepared for any type situation they may have to respond to.
