08/30/2006 at 1000hrs

Marion County Emergency Management officials continue to monitor Tropical Storm Ernesto as it makes its way through Florida.

As of this point, no activations of shelters or the Emergency Operations Center have been planned.

Director of Emergency Management, Captain Chip Wildy encourages all citizens to still be prepared with the necessary items that accompany a storm such as non-perishable food items, prescription medications, water, flashlights and batteries.

We encourage any citizens with any concerns to please contact our Emergency Management office.
