The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Marion County Jail and Faith & Justice Coalition Inc., of Marion County, has (for years) provided an immediate resource for former inmates. We have the Faith & Justice Coalition Re-Entry Services building. It is located just north of the multi-purpose building on our campus. It’s a doublewide trailer that is facing NW 10th Street, just west of the juvenile justice building and about a 100 yards north of the jail. At this time, services are provided from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. It is important that you know about this service and share this information with co-workers and inmates. Most inmates, released from our jail, need some type of assistance for transition back into the community. The facilities staff will share details about the many services available to released inmates. Additionally, people can learn more from dozen-of-pamphlets; get a chance to use computers, phones and receive clothes. In some cases, bus passes may be provided.
