Hello, I am Lieutenant Al Ramirez, Commander of the Sheriff's Forest District. The Forest District encompasses 289 square miles and includes the many communities that border the Ocala National Forest, such as Lake View Woods, Silver Springs Village, Silver Lakes Acres, Scrambletown, Lynne, Woods and Lakes, Forest Lakes Park, and many more. Much of the District also includes the many woods, lakes and rivers of the Ocala National Forest itself, so the Marion County Sheriff’s Office has a strong working relationship with the United States Forest Service, Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the Department of Environmental Protection. By working together we strive to ensure a “Sense of Community” and provide a safe environment in which to come enjoy the great outdoors.
