FORMER N.F.L. PLAYER ARRESTED

Ocala: A former N.F.L. player was arrested today by Sheriff’s Detectives after he was implicated in dealing in stolen property.

During an investigation into the theft of an ATV it came to light that the ATV was sold to the suspect for $900, and that the suspect has purchased stolen property in the past.

Today a controlled recorded phone conversation was made to the suspect in which the caller told the suspect that she had two stolen TV’s. Knowing the TV’s were stolen, the suspect still agreed to purchase the TV’s for $600. The TV’s, new and still in the original boxes, had a total value of $1,500.

The TV’s were delivered to the suspect at his home, at which time he paid cash for the TV’s. The suspect was taken into custody and gave consent for Detectives to search his property.

Upon searching the suspect’s property, the stolen ATV valued at $4000 was located in an out-building on his property.

The suspect was arrested and lodged in the Marion County Jail.
