ARRESTS MADE IN MAJOR BURGLARY RING

Marion County Sheriff’s Office detectives – working a High Intensity Patrol (HIP) Zone – broke a major burglary ring. Detectives Rhonda VanWeelden, Steve Osborne and James Hoydic, of the Northwest District, took into custody:
• Leo Davis DOB: 8/30/1988
• Antonio D. Brockington DOB: 12/15/1985
• Shapora L. King DOB: 12/30/1990
• Shaberia R. Harris DOB: 11/28/1989

The four suspects were arrested for burglary, grant theft, dealing in stolen property and violation of the Pawnbroker Act. “Additional arrests from the HIP cases are pending,” said Judge Cochran, Marion County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer.

“Also, our detectives have identified cases in Marion Oaks, Gainesville and possibly the Silver Springs Shores area, that these suspects are responsible for,” Cochran said.

Davis’ collective bond is $22,000. He’s in the Marion County Jail. Brockington’s collective bond is $60,000. He, too, remains in the Marion County Jail. King was released October 1, 2009. Harris’ collective bond is $17,500 and she remains in jail.
