Hello, my name is Captain Brian Spivey and I am the Commander of the Southeast District. My office is located at the South Multi-District office on U.S. Highway 441, between Ocala and Belleview. I have been employed with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office since 1997 and through the years I have had the pleasure to serve in many sworn capacities to include: Patrol Deputy, Property Crimes Detective, Major Crimes Detective, SWAT Operator, SWAT Team Leader, Sector Sergeant, Special Victim’s Unit Supervisor, Homicide Unit Supervisor, District Commander, Crime Suppression Commander, and Watch Commander.
I am honored to serve both the Sheriff that I work for, Billy Woods, and the citizens who I meet each and every day. The appreciation shown by the community to me, and other members of my profession, is truly humbling. My goal, as a career Law Enforcement Officer and lifelong resident, has always been to make Marion County a safer place to live, work, play and relax.
There are 12 deputies assigned to the Southeast District when fully staffed. The Southeast District is consistently one of the busiest districts in Marion County due to the high volume of residential areas along Southeast Baseline Road, Maricamp Road and South Pine Avenue. During the hours of 8-5, Monday through Friday, the office is staffed by Mrs. Terri Barnes, who can assist you with reporting crimes or suspicious incidents, obtaining copies of reports and fingerprinting requests.
As your Southeast District Commander, I ensure proper staffing, attempt to identify problem areas or trends in the district, handle administrative responsibilities, take care of personnel issues, and ensure any problems or complaints from citizens within the district are handled appropriately. If there are any comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to stop by the office or call me at 352-438-5940.

I enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corps upon graduation from high school and have a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal justice.
There are 12 deputies assigned to the South Central District when fully staffed. The South Central District is located south of the Ocala City Limits, but encompasses the cities of Belleview and Summerfield. The district covers approximately 57 square miles with a population of about 28,000 residents. The district is also home to a portion of the Florida Greenways and Trails, which is a great recreation site for avid walkers, trail hikers, mountain bike and horseback riders. During the hours of 8-5, Monday through Friday, the office is staffed by Mrs. Terri Barnes, who can assist you with reporting crimes or suspicious incidents, obtaining copies of reports and fingerprinting requests.
As your District Commander, I will continue to ensure and reinforce the dedicated, reliable and trusting relationship this Agency has within the community it serves. If there are any comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to stop by the office or call me at 352-438-5940.
