ADA ODELL

Ada was reported missing by family and friends in early July 2010. Her family informed deputies that Ada was battling cancer, and it was completely out of character for her to simply disappear, especially while leaving behind her purse, cell phone, and other personal belongings. Deputies, K-9 units, and the Field Force Unit conducted extensive searches for Ada but were unable to locate her.

During the investigation, detectives learned that Ada’s boyfriend, Raul Diaz Sosa, reportedly became violent when he drank and was

believed to be the last person to see Ada. Sosa was later seen driving Ada’s black Nissan pickup truck bearing Florida tag 508 KZK.

Witnesses stated that around the time of Ada’s disappearance, Sosa traveled to Miami with Ada’s dog. The dog was later found in the same area where Sosa was last seen. Detectives attempted to locate Sosa and spoke with his family and friends, who stated they had been in contact with him. Due to Sosa’s violent tendencies and the circumstances surrounding Ada’s disappearance, he became a person of interest in the case.
