MEET THE CHIEF DEPUTY

 

Chief Deputy Robert Douglas

Before being appointed as Chief Deputy by Sheriff Billy Woods on January 3, 2016, Chief Deputy Robert Douglas served the citizens of Marion County during his 25 year career at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). Chief Deputy Douglas began his career in 1976 as a Corrections Officer at the Marion County Jail.  He has held many positions within the Sheriff’s Office such as Patrol Deputy, Master Deputy, District Commander and Watch Commander, to name a few.  Chief Deputy Douglas retired at the rank of Major/Bureau Chief in the Patrol Division in 2003. In 2005, Chief Douglas was hired to serve as the Chief of Police for the City of Chiefland.  He served the citizens of Chiefland for 11 years before coming back to the MCSO to serve as your current Chief Deputy.  

Chief Deputy Douglas is a graduate of the University of Louisville Southern Police Institute Administration Officer’s Course.
