S.H.I.E.L.D. GPS Monitoring

Surviving Harmful Interactions Through Electronic Location Devices

It is the policy of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to provide an alternative method to deter domestic violence offenders from violating pre-trial release conditions, thus granting victims another tool for protection.

This program allows court ordered pre-trial offenders to be mapped and tracked with a G.P.S. ankle monitor. The offender must be sentenced to the program by a court order issued by a judge. Multiple inclusion and exclusion zones can be specified. The Sheriff’s Office will only supervise offender’s court ordered by a judge to this program.
