Captain Dustin Bowers commands the Jail Safety and Solutions Division, overseeing a wide range of essential jail operations. The division manages Jail Investigations, K-9 operations, inmate grievances, the Detention Response Team (DRT), and the Shakedown Team. It also supervises inmate programs, the law library, inmate mail services, and monitors the jail’s medical contract to ensure proper care.

In addition, the Jail Investigations Department investigates inmate-on-inmate incidents and any crimes occurring within the Marion County Jail. The DRT responds to combative inmates, using de-escalation techniques and, when necessary, hands-on cell extractions to safely resolve situations.
