JAMES BURT

On June 1, 2019, the family of James Burt reported him missing. James was last seen around May 17, 2019, in various areas of western Marion County, including the Chatmire area near Dunnellon and the Ocala Estates area along W. Highway 40. Family and friends told deputies that James had been struggling with substance abuse and had recently relapsed.

As the investigation progressed, Major Crimes detectives developed information leading them to believe James may have been the victim of foul play.
