The Communications Division is part of the Operational Support Bureau. This division is responsible for the Communications Center, Training Division, and the Records Division.   

The Communications Center is responsible for dispatching Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies to emergency and non-emergency calls for service, and providing critical information to the units when they are en-route and in the field. Their extensive training helps them assess situations, obtain pertinent information, and dispatch the appropriate resources, in a timely manner.  

The Records Division is responsible for reviewing and processing all completed law enforcement reports to ensure compliance with public records law. Records personnel process all agency-issued citations, complete Criminal Registrations, provide fingerprinting service to all Marion County residents, they respond to public records requests and conduct local background checks.

The Training Division is a high liability division charged with the training of all Law Enforcement, Detention, Communications and civilian positions with the agency. In addition to providing entry level training for all new employees, the division maintains their certifications and is responsible for all mandatory retraining of sworn personnel.
